Devils legend is bummed Capitals’ Alex Ovechkin’s goal chase is on pause

When the Devils visit the Capitals on Saturday night, they’ll do so with no chance of aiding Washington captain Alex Ovechkin’s chase for the all-time scoring record.
That’s because Ovechkin, who stormed out to 15 goals in 18 games and trails Wayne Gretzky by 26 for a share of the lead, fractured his left fibula against the Utah Hockey Club on Monday and will miss 4-6 weeks.
